As happy as we are to be back together under one roof, TMIM and I have the occasional tiff, as couples will. Most of ours seem to involve the phrase “Why would you put that THERE?” When this happens, I imagine us in a sitcom: “Loving, long-married couple spend 3 years in long-distance relationship. They reunite, and hilarity ensues.”
I’m not sure why this works, but I can usually walk away from these little controversies with a smile.
does it strike you ever that roughly 50% of our good friends have managed to maintain long, loving marriages or relationships? it is so gratifying and uplifting. considering that, what, 25% came from families that had long loving marriages. something has shifted.
of course, i don’t lump myself in with your sorority since i didn’t make it through the hazing, but i am still gratified and uplifted. any besides, if God dumps the Man in my driveway this year, I still have time to get married and have grandchildren.
